Meet Vanessa
Vanessa Matibag, the founder of Outside Lead HR Solutions, is a seasoned HR professional with over 15 years of experience. She was born and raised in the Philippines and this unique cultural background enriches her dedicated pursuit of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice. Her insights have proven invaluable in sculpting inclusive workplaces and enabling them to attract and retain a diverse workforce.
Vanessa was a founding member of the BIPOC Affinity Group at her previous employment. The group played a significant role in highlighting and addressing practices and policies that were less supportive of employees of color. They were also a crucial support and guidance to the Leadership team in their goal to foster a more inclusive, equitable organization, deeply rooted in anti-racist practices. Vanessa’s commitment to DEI is not just professional but is a mission she passionately adheres to.
Vanessa is an experienced leader with extensive knowledge in various areas of Human Resources management, including talent acquisition, learning and development, team leadership, and project administration. She has had tremendous success within the non-profit sector, demonstrating an ability to streamline HR functions by implementing numerous programs and initiatives that have had a positive impact on the entire organization. Her skills set also includes creating and implementing recruitment policies that foster a culture of continuous improvement, resulting in a highly motivated and productive workforce.
Vanessa established Outside Lead HR Solutions with the goal of providing start-ups and non-profit organizations with human resources capacity, focusing on the areas of Recruitment and Onboarding, HR Administration and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Vanessa is also passionate about ballroom dancing. Five years ago, she discovered her love for it and has been actively participating in amateur ballroom competitions ever since. Her dedication to this craft showcases her commitment to continuous growth and development, not just in her professional life but also in her personal pursuits.
